NFL Championship Weekend Picks

Just got back from a night over at the beach. Good times, but very chilly times.

So I guess we're getting close to this thing they call the Super Bowl huh? And rumor has it, that I will be enjoying tomorrow's games on a very very large television screen. It sounds as though it's going to be heaven. Can't wait.

So in the NFC, the Packers are hosting the Giants. Personally, I am glad to see the Packers back in the conversation when talking about good NFC teams. Word is, the game is going to be one of the coldest in NFL history. I'm very glad I'll be watching from the comfort of my 75 degrees and with my warm slippers.

This most interesting thing about this game is how successful the Giants have been on the road this season. They have won 9 straight road games. Nine. No NFL team does that. Well, unless you're the Patriots. Let me rephrase--no normal NFL team does that. So there is something about the Giants playing on the road, I guess.

Regardless of that, I think Green Bay pulls this win out at home. Packers win 28-20.

Now onto the AFC title game. It's New England welcoming the San Diego Chargers into the friendly confines of Gillette Stadium. This is going to be a good one.

Of course, I'm invested fully in this game as a fan. So my biases are hard to deny when picking Patriot's games. But I am pretty confident that New England has the upper hand in this game tomorrow.

San Diego is banged up for tomorrow's match-up. Tomlinson's knee is weak, Gates has a busted up toe, and Rivers probably won't even play. I just don't see backup QB Billy Volek coming to the rescue and leading the Chargers past the Pats in New England. It's just not very likely.

I'm excited people. And I think you're all excited too. New England will win this game, 31-10.
