Oregon Will Honor Troops By Wearing Camo Jerseys For The Spring Football Game

Things you are assured to happen in life.  The sun rising and setting.  Death and taxes.  And the Oregon Ducks coming out with a new uniform or uniform combination.  And they've done it again.

Continuing with the theme that started at last year's spring football game, the Ducks will once again wear camouflage jerseys to honor the troops that have served and are currently serving our country.

Of the many things about Chip Kelly that I admire, his attention paid to the troops is something I admire about him most.  Kelly talked about the reasoning behind the military tribute:

"This not only presents a tremendous opportunity for our fans to pay their respects for the sacrifices men and women around the country make every day, but proved to be an eye-opening experience for our players and coaches,” Kelly said. “There were relationships formed from last year’s experience that extended beyond just one afternoon."

From everything I've read about these new uniforms, there are some very mixed reactions.  As with all of Oregon's new uniform creations over the past few years (and, trust me, there have been many), some people love them and some people hate them.  For example, the "new" jerseys they busted out for the national title game were pretty unimpressive for me.  But these new jerseys are sort of un-hatable because of what they represent and why they're wearing them.

Even if they looked awful, they're only wearing them for a game (not even a real game).  And the reason they're wearing them far outweighs their need to be stylish at all.

Of course, that is just my personal opinion.  You can hate these jerseys if you want to.  But there's a good chance that you have no soul if that's the case.  Oh, and you probably hate America too.
