Things That I'm Tired Of This Week: Mark Cuban And His Skin Tight T-Shirts

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!
I want to start this post out by sharing some very exclusive quotes from Mark Cuban after every single one of Dallas' 27 losses this season, up to this point.  I want to give credit to the PSG research team for all their hard work and focus in obtaining these quotes from Cuban.

Remember, these are quotes from every game the Mavericks have lost this season.  Here's what he said.

"Wahhhhhhhhh wahhhhhhhhhh waaaahhhhhhhhhh.  My team lost this game!  And it was all the refs fault!  It's a conspiracy against my team.  All the refs in the league hate us and want us to lose!  Screw you David Stern!  Screw you NBA!  I hate all of you!!!    Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Pretty crazy huh?  He said the same exact thing every time his team lost.  What are the odds?

Stop the presses, people.  Mark Cuban is pissed about the officiating in the NBA.  Totally came out of the blue, I know.  Apparently, amateur referee-in-training Mark Cuban has analyzed the game film from game 4 of the Mavs-Blazers series, and has found two specific plays, where if the referees hadn't been paid off to make the Blazers win, and the calls went in Dallas' favor, the Mavericks clearly would have prevailed and the series would already be over and the Mavericks would be on their way to being the basketball champions of the universe.

Or something like that.

I'm not even going to get into if Nowitzki completely running over Gerald Wallace was the "textbook definition" of a offensive foul or not.  I'm just going to say that if you think (and apparently Cuban does) that singular play cost Dallas the game, how do you explain the Mavericks blowing a 23 point lead in the 4th quarter?  You can't, but I'm sure Mark Cuban would give it a try.  And there's no doubt that it would be the referee's fault.

Listen, game four was in Portland.  Most of the time, an offensive charging call is a judgement call.  If anyone knows anything about the NBA, you know how the officiating goes for the home team.  It usually goes pretty well, by comparison.  That's just the name of the game.  So am I shocked that an bang-bang offensive charge was called against the visiting Mavs while playing in Portland?  Not at all.  And Cuban shouldn't be either.

As usual, Cuban just wanted to make the headlines.  After all, he hadn't seen his name in a headline for at least, what, 3 days?  The poor guy must have been going nuts about being ignored that much.  Up until now, this series has only been about basketball, and Cuban just can't have that, now can he?

After the very first game of this series, Blazers coach Nate McMillan was fined a cool $35,000 bucks for complaining about the officiating that led to Dallas shooting 19 fourth quarter free throws to Portland's 2 total free throws in the same quarter.  Hmmm, to a reasonable person, what does that tell you?  Well it tells you that most likely, because the game was in Dallas, that the Mavs probably got the benefit of the doubt on a foul call or two.  Sure it sucks that it's like that.  Coaches complain about it, and they get fined.  That is just the way it is in today's NBA.

The annoying thing about Mark Cuban is that he complains ALL THE F#$%&@! TIME about it.  Can't he just give it a rest for a couple weeks?  I mentioned to someone earlier today that I know that Cuban is known for complaining about NBA officials and what not, but wow, you sure do notice it a lot more when your team is playing his team in a playoff series.  Sheesh man.

Alas, there's at least one Mavs fan that gets it.  Maybe they could get a hold of Mark Cuban and tell him how things go in the NBA.  Commenter "Doodlesuck" posted this about the ESPN.com story:  "JA Adande tweeted Saturday that "If you don't think Dallas will get 50 free throws on Monday you don't know how the NBA works". I am a Dallas fan but it was obvious to me that all the 50/50 calls went to the Mavs tonight, from the very beginning. Of course I take the win, but we would be far better off if the refs weren't so predictable. Two days ago the calls favored Portland and tonight they favored Dallas."

I better stop now.  My rant has gone on long enough.
