Breaking News: Blazers Are Mediocre Again

Man, what is up with the Portland Trail Blazers lately?? They have played like total crap since mid-January. I really don't get it.

Tonight they beat the crappy Clippers by a score of 82-80. And we've formed a team habit of getting a nice, comfortable lead....then letting the other team storm back and either beat us or make the score something like 82-80. Holy geez, guys, this is getting old.

I know that our best player, B-Roy is out, but everyone else is playing like complete dung. They have the hardest part of our schedule up ahead of them, so at this point, I am just hoping for a .500 season. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bangin' on the guys for the season they've had so far. I don't think any Blazer fan would have predicted 28 wins at this point in the season. Heck, after a total of 21 wins last year, I would have been happy with, like, 32 wins total. So I have to applaud the Blazers on the progress so far.

Their main problem is that they are relying way too much on Brandon Roy. It seems as Brandon goes, so do the rest of the guys. Of course, with him banged up and injured, it's kind of hard for him to be leading the team to a victory night in and night out, like he was doing at the beginning of the year.

Guys like LaMarcus Aldridge really need to start taking charge and scoring more. Travis Outlaw too. Outlaw is already the second offensive option as it is, so he needs to continue what he's been doing. And what is up with Jarrett Jack?!? I mean Jarrett, this ain't the NCAA Tournament anymore bro! This isn't tourney time at Georgia Tech, man! This is the NBA! You can't always outrun all the other guys and jack up any shot that you feel like! Get it, "jack" up random shots? But that's totally what his game usually consists of, night in and night out.

Okay, so there is my rant, people. The Blazers are good, but not making a lot of progress at the moment. They won't make the playoffs, and lottery pick here we come again. I have a feeling that they're going to make some noise in the off season in terms of some kind of trade, however. So we'll see.
