It's weird how this news made my entire day. I mean, it's not like I wish Jim Rome extra failure or to lose his job or anything like that. I just don't want to have to hear him on the radio at all, that's all. And the funny thing is, is that I used to like Jim Rome.
I loved the Jim Rome Show for the first week I listened to it. Then in week two, it got real old real quick.
The biggest problem I had with Rome's show was that it didn't have any sports substance to it. All of his "takes" were just a bunch of locker room trash talk about how stupid everyone in the sports world is. I'm trying to listen to a sports radio talk show and all I ever got from Rome was the crap that you hear bitter fans yell from the seats at the other team. Is that all you need to know how to do to have a national sports talk show these days? If it is, then sign me up!
Not to mention all the four syllable words and sound effects you could ask for. In-credible. Tre-mendous. A-lledgedly. Re-markable. Re-diculous. A-rugula. Pre-nuptual. Phe-nominal. Count-choc-u-la!
Another thing that is completely lame -- his TV show is pretty much the exact same script as his radio show on a daily basis. What is that all about? Is that normal for people that have both TV and radio shows?? Maybe it is, but it's still stupid.
So good riddance Jim Rome and his show.
I am out.
