Well, it Looks Like the NBA Got What it Wanted: A Lakers-Celtics Finals Matchup

Well, as you know, the NBA brass and officials conspired together yesterday, and we have a Boston Celtics-LA Lakers NBA Finals.  Whoop-dee-doo folks.
For the record, looking back at my predictions, I had the Lakers facing the Pistons in the Finals, so my sure-to-go-wrong Finals picks surely went wrong.  But clearly I overlooked the obvious fact that what the NBA wants, the NBA usually gets.  But I was close, and my title pick is the Lakers.  I just don't see any reason to change that pick at this point.

Even though I picked the wrong Eastern Conference team, and ignoring the fact that I cannot stand the Celtics and everything they've "accomplished" in this magical season of basketball, I have to admit that I'm looking forward to seeing this year's Finals.  Sometimes it's really nice, as a fan of the NBA, to just sit back and watch the NBA Finals, with no real vested rooting interest in either team that is playing.  I am looking forward to just seeing some good basketball, Kobe score 50 a few times, and maybe a bench-clearing brawl or two.  You know with Lamar Odom (a thug who is always doing things like this) for the Lakers, and Paul Pierce (gang-sign-thrower-upper) and Kendrick Perkins (another gang-sign-thrower-upper) for the Celtics, the chances of some sort of hissy fit breaking out is much, much higher than normal.  Makes sense, right?

The one thing that I'm really not looking forward to, in the least.  At least 3 more weeks of this crappy, annoying commercial you see there below.  The Lakers are going to win this thing in 7 games, and it'll be interesting to see how many games it takes Kevin Garnett to simply explode.  (Garnett's almost done it before, folks.)
