What The Hell is Wrong With These People?

Saw this photo on East Village Idiot a little bit ago.  This is a huge line.  In the middle of NYC.  This line is outside of a Trader Joe's supermarket.  Let me say that again.  People are waiting to gain entrance into a Trader Joe's supermarket.  The pic was snapped at around 7 pm. There has to be at least 25 people in that line.  Unbelievable.
Reminds me of a couple weeks back when my mom and I took my nephew Sawyer to the Trader Joe's here in Lake Oswego area, and it was PACKED.  There were cool hipster soccer moms just getting back from the gym, like, everywhere.  I'll tell ya, it was nearly out of control.  And this was at about 1:30 pm on a Tuesday.  Not exactly what you would call 'rush hour' for grocery shopping.

While we were there, I was pushing the cart, right?  I turned to follow my mom down some random isle and it was pretty crowded.  But I kinda needed to follow my mom.  She sorta needs a place to, you know, put the groceries.  So I looked at some of the people in the aisle, wanting a little bit of help so I can squeeze my way down the aisle (they all were listening to iPods too for some weird reason)...and NOBODY moved an inch.  Thanks losers, I like my vegetables UN-organic anyway!

I just don't "get" the coolness of Trader Joe's, I suppose.  I also do not get when people started shopping with their iPods blasting in their ears, but that is neither here nor there.  But look at that line, people!  And as the dude that writes EVI stated, they weren't even giving anything away free.  People in America never cease to amaze me.  And not in the good way.

I am not sure what pisses me off more, this Trader Joe's madness or DeShawn Stevenson.  It's definitely a close call.
