Stephen A. Smith Makes Me Laugh

Today's been a bad day.  Woke up with a huge migraine of the "makes-me-dizzy-every-time-I-stand-up" variety and it hasn't gotten any better.  So all I've managed to do is watch some TV this morning and make a trip to Red Robin for lunch.

On '1st and 10' this morning, along with Skip Bayless, was the one-and-only Stephen A. Smith.  Lately, I've made it a habit that whenever I see Stephen A. on TV talking about something, I'll keep watching and have myself a little chuckle.  Stephen A. never fails to provide a laugh, so I'm always pleasantly entertained.  (Side: I never get why everyone calls him Stephen A., and not just Stephen.)

So in this clip, they're talking about comments that Carson Palmer recently made in regards to the situation that the Bengals are having with Chad Johnson.  That link has the entire story, but the jist of what Palmer said was "Chad's not going to tear this locker room apart and ruin what we've got going."  Now I don't think what he said was too inflammatory, but he's made no secret of the fact that he is sick and tired of the show that Chad Johnson has been putting on for the past couple of months.  Personally, I don't blame him.  Hell, even I'm sick of Chad Johnson's antics and I just have to watch it on TV.  I'm not even on the same team as Chad.

So anyway, I got a good chuckle out of how passionately Stephen A. defends Chad in this clip.  Nothing he brings up about Chad Johnson makes his antics less annoying and less of a distraction to the Bengals.  He says that, of all people, Carson Palmer should act more like a professional athlete.  Right, because we all know how "professional" Chad Johnson has been acting in all of this, right Stephen A.?  Stephen A. sounds like he is Chad Johnson's PR guy in this clip, and he's trying to sell Chad Johnson to all of us.  No thanks, I'm not buying it.

Oh and I don't get how Chad Johnson has personally turned TJ Houshmandzadeh "into a household name" in the least.  Last year TJ led the Bengals in receptions and touchdowns, and I'm pretty sure he did most of that on his own accord.
