Today's Blazer Trade Rumors

Deal #1:  Joel Przybilla to Orlando for JJ Redick?

Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel writes that the Orlando Magic might trade guard JJ Redick for a big man to back up starting center Dwight Howard, and a Portland Trail Blazer finds his name in the mix...

Newly acquired Jason Richardson is starting at shooting guard, with Redick coming off the bench. But Gilbert Arenas also can play the 2 as can Quentin Richardson. Hedo Turkoglu can do spot duty there. Some names bandied about in a deal for Redick have been Indiana’s Jeff Foster or Portland’s Joel Przybilla or Charlotte’s Nazr Mohammed or DeSagna Diop (yikes). Their salaries align.

Deal #2:  Andre Miller and Marcus Camby to Charlotte for Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, and DeSagana Diop?

Sam Amick of NBA Fanhouse reports...League sources told FanHouse that the Bobcats and Portland have discussed a trade that would send beloved small forward Gerald Wallace to the Blazers with center DeSagana Diop and point guard D.J. Augustin in exchange for center Marcus Camby and point guard Andre Miller. And while the Blazers are exploring a litany of their own options and don't appear eager to do the deal as of now, the discussion that is one of many being had by the Bobcats reveals plenty about the sort of the on-court changes Jordan has in mind for his club.

He wants a point guard not named D.J. Augustin who comes with a veteran's resume and a veteran big man who produces on both ends of the floor. But it's the final prerequisite that is by far the most problematic for most scenarios being considered, as he wants to significantly cut future salary just in time for the new landscape that will come with a new collective bargaining agreement.

Ben Golliver over at Blazersedge did add a note to this Charlotte rumor, that it probably can't work as it's presently constructed.  But at least they're talking about it, right?

These deals both sound relatively decent.  I really like the idea of getting Gerald Wallace and JJ Redick.  But I'm wondering if we trade Camby and Przybilla away, who is going to start at center for Portland?  And don't say DeSagana Diop.  Him as the Blazers starting center is laughable. 

I suppose Portland could or would go out and acquire a center but after getting rid of Przybilla, Camby, and Miller, there aren't many tradeable parts left on the team.

Hmmmm, I'm very interested to see how things play out.
