Our short answer to that question: They're probably going to have another 5-7 season or worse, unfortunately.
Quizz leaving school early is going to be pretty devastating for the Beavers. One of the following guys is going to have some pretty big shoes to fill come 2011 football season in Corvallis: Ryan McCants, Jovan Stevenson, Jordan Jenkins, Malcolm Marable, Storm Woods, or Malcolm Agnew. None of those names inspire a lot of hope for the Beavers, at least right now.
Ryan McCants looks to be the leader in the clubhouse to take over and be the starter come next season. He's a big, physical guy, but has issues with fumbles and not getting low enough.
Who knows though? When Steven Jackson left school early, the Beavers managed to find little Yvenson Bernard, and he came to be a very servicable running back in the end. So it could be done. In terms of the rest of the roster, though, a one-year-older quarterback Ryan Katz should really help out the Beavs.
Another thing that might end up helping the Beavers, is what John Canzano says they need to do. And that is to cash in on Quizz leaving school early for the NFL. Start telling every recruit that if they come to OSU and play for the Beavers, that they too can do exactly what Rodgers did, and make it to the NFL.
