Movie Review: Juno

Since I've been out of work and going to school full time, I have a lot of free time. This is a no-brainer. But since I have so much free time, I am starting to need to think of more things to do to keep me busy. Lately, I've been on a kick where all I want to do is go to the theatres and see movies.

Trouble is, there are hardly any movies out right now that I have a desire to see. But there was one movie that I wanted to check out. And that movie was Juno.

So me and the girlfriend went to see Juno the other night. I had read a little bit about the movie on the net, and so I knew that a lot of people across the country, people were liking this flick.

This movie was about teen pregnancy, for the most part. And I thought it was surprisingly refreshing, given the seriousness of the subject matter. It was pretty funny in most parts and had a very light-hearted feel throughout the movie.

I thought the movie was going to be funnier than it was. I was looking for a different kind of funny. This isn't the Superbad type of humor, not even close. But it wasn't advertised as that type of movie, so it's not like it's a huge knock on the movie.

Overall, I would give it a solid 4 out of 5 rating. I would pay to go and see it again, for what it's worth. I'll probably just wait for it on DVD though. I mean who goes to see a movie in the theatres twice?
