Chuck Swirsky is a Jerk and Completely Unreasonable

Meet Chuck Swirsky. He's the play-by-play announcer for the Toronto Raptors. As I've stated in the title of this post, he is a big jerk. And this morning, he looked pretty stupid. And it was awesome.

A little background first. In 2006, Brandon Roy won the Rookie of the Year award rather easily. In fact, he got every voter's first place vote, except for one. He was one vote away from being the third guy to ever unanimously win the Rookie of the Year.

The lone man to not vote for Brandon Roy as the Rookie of the Year: Chuck Swirsky. Chuck voted, instead, for Andrea Bargnani to be the Rookie of the Year. Chuck voted for the guy that was on the team and part of the organization that he worked for. How very objective and fair of you, Chuck.

So this morning, I watched the Blazers-Raptors game in it's entirety. It was a great game, but the Blazers lost this game in double OT, and had several chances to put this game away. But as I was watching the game, I realized what had just happened. As the game was in it's most crucial moments, Brandon Roy was leading his team. Andrea Bargnani was riding the pine.

Here is what each player did in the game this morning:

Brandon Roy: 52 min, 33 pts, 10 ast, 5 reb, 4-6 3-ptrs, 2 stl.

Andrea Bargnani: 15 min, 4 pts, 2 reb, 1 stl.

So maybe poor ol' Bargnani was the Rookie of the Year in Swirsky's mind last year, but you be the judge here. It's pretty clear who is the better player. It's clear who the steal of the draft was and who the bust (#1 pick overall) of the draft was.

Oh by the way Swirsky, while Roy is obviously the better player now, he was better last year too, you jerk. Get a life buddy. Oh and stop making up stupid catchphrases, they're horrible.
