Movie Review: Jumper

Went to see the movie Jumper yesterday. And someone owes me at least half of the $7 I paid for it.

It's been a long time since there has been a movie that I thought undershot it's potential as much as Jumper did. And if it wasn't for some less-than-ideal face time for my girl Rachel Bilson, this movie would have almost been a total waste of my money.

I'd say someone owes me about $4.50.

This movie could have been a whole lot cooler than it was. There were more holes in the plot and background than any movie I can remember. I know science-fiction movies have some sort of "unexplained-ness" to them, but this was off the charts. There was no real depth to any part of the story.

Things that I didn't really get: what was the story behind his mom...why did they even have her in the movie, was he supposed to be some kind of super hero and save people around him, why Rachel Bilson wasn't in more of the movie, why his relationship with Rachel Bilson was so random and awkward, why were the "bad guys" trying to kill him the entire time.

There were just a lot of things that didn't add up. The movie could have used another half hour to explain a lot of these things. It was just so disappointing to me, and it had tons of potential. But it fell short time and time again. With that said, if I were to give some advice to the director, a couple more scenes with Rachel Bilson with her undies on would bump the rating up at least one star!

Rating: 2.5 stars out of 5. (At least 3/5 stars with more Rachel Bilson!)
