Let's Dabble in Politics, Shall We?

So I know you've all been stuck to the edge of your seats, just waiting for me to officially endorse my candidate for president in 2008. Right? Well you'll have to wait a little bit longer my friends, but not to worry, it will come.

Until then, let's talk about how retarded some people can be. Let's start with the retarded Democrats that are out there. Actually, they will be the only retards to be spoken of today, but there will be other days to talk about both Republican and Democrat retards, people. Let us pace ourselves.

So I listen to Rush Limbaugh occasionally. I enjoy being informed and educated about politics, but I rarely get very worked up about anything anymore. But today Rush was talking about something pretty interesting.

The premise was this: Before the Texas and Ohio primaries, Rush was encouraging Republicans in those states to cast their vote for Hillary. Weird idea, I know, but the reason for doing this was to make it so that the Democratic nominee race would not get cinched up by Barack Obama. Rush believes that it will be better for Republicans in the general election, if Barack and Hillary continue to beat up on each other with all their negative ads and such. Pretty smart strategy if you ask me.

Now there is another layer to all of this. All the liberal news pundits were killing Rush, for what they called "perverting the process of democracy." Which is fine enough at the end of the day. But what is funny about Rush "perverting" the Democrat nominee race, is that the Democrats "perverted" the Republican primary race from the very beginning.

Starting with Michigan, New Hampshire and even in South Carolina. The Democrats and Independents practically chose John McCain as the Republican nominee!

Quoting from the article from the NY Sun, regarding the Michigan primary: "The race between Senator McCain and Mitt Romney in the Wolverine State is so close that it may be decided by Democratic and independent voters who choose to vote in the Republican primary."

I remember listening to the news covering the very first primaries in New Hampshire and South Carolina and they specifically made this point. They said that it was mainly the independents and Democrats that took the victory out of the hands of Mitt Romney and gave it to John McCain, who leans far more liberal than Mitt Romney.

Back at the time, their excuse for so many Democrats crossing over and voting in the Republican primary was something to the effect of "Oh, we're just exercising out democratic right as Americans." Now when Rush suggests that Republicans do the same exact thing in Texas and Ohio, it's called "perverting the democratic process." Here's some of the transcript from Rush's show when he brought it up.

"
Perverting the democrat process? What did you guys do to our process? All you Democrats and independents crossing over, not only in 2000, but here in 2008, nominating and voting for Senator McCain. What, you guys are going to vote for McCain in November? You think we don't understand what you were doing here? You're trying to choose our nominee, why can't we try to choose yours? You like people across the aisle so much, you ought to be happy that a lot of Republicans cross the aisle and voted for a Democrat instead of thinking the process has been perverted."

So there you go people. I don't mind when people disagree on politics and what their beliefs are, but when it's blatant stupidity like this, I think it needs to be brought up.

We'll be sure and dabble in politics more often! This stuff is pretty fun, isn't it? Feel free to comment on what you all think. I'm interested to know what the general political feel is right now.
