Maybe it was just the thing my dad would have wanted me to do on this Father's Day occasion. I'm not sure what got into me today, but when I got home from church, I did something that I have never really done in my life: I went upstairs and turned on the TV with the express purpose of watching Tiger Woods and the US Open. Weird stuff.Not that I despise golf or anything (unlike soccer...you can't get me to willingly watch soccer), but usually I try to limit my golf watching to just the highlights every night on SportsCenter. That is usually more than enough for me. And if I'm being completely honest, if it's not a major and/or if Tiger Woods isn't playing, I just don't care.
But after seeing what Tiger Woods did yesterday, coming back to end day three at the top of the leaderboard, I had to see if Tiger could close it out. It turned out to be a great day of golf, in my humble never-really-watch-golf-if-I-can-avoid-it opinion. I probably won't be tuning in all 18 holes of the playoff with Rocco Mediate tomorrow, so once again, I will be relying on the highlights. Nice work today, Tiger.
