Completely Random Question

A couple of years of ago, I heard about a poll where people were asked what would be the hardest thing for an "average person" to accomplish in the world of sports.  In other words, what would be the hardest thing for me, as an "average dude", to walk off the street and actually do.  I am not sure what all the choices were, but I remember two of the choices: 1. hit a 90 mph fastball and 2. successfully pole vault.

As it turned out, the thing that got the most votes from all the people who were surveyed was "to hit a 90 mph fastball."  And I have to beg to differ.  I personally think that it would be quite a bit easier for me, as a slightly pudgy, but nonetheless semi-athletic dude, to step into the batters box and hit a 90-mph fastball, then to pick up a plastic pole and successfully vault myself over a bar.  At least without killing myself or someone else in the process.  To me, there isn't really any doubt that pole vaulting (successfully) is much harder.  The key is that with hitting the fastball, at least I have more of a chance of getting plain ol' lucky.  That's what I'm hinging most of my argument on.  Feel free to discuss this amongst yourselves.

And just because we're so interactive here at the 'LOD', we have a poll question of the day for you all.  On the Dan Patrick radio program, when Dan was interviewing Rockies first baseman Todd Helton, he asked Helton which would he rather do, throw a no hitter, hit three homers in one game or hit for the cycle?  Helton said he'd rather toss a no-no.  But we pose that same question to all of you.  So go ahead people, Ba-rack the vote.

Oh and we'd personally choose sitting next to Marissa Miller over just about anything on the Earth, so this question isn't really fair if you ask us.  But that's just us and our pervy ways.
