So I've been watching my favorite afternoon radio talk show today. They just got done interviewing Merritt Paulson. He's the dude who owns the Portland Beavers here in town.
Now let's face it, the Beavers aren't exactly drawing thousands upon thousands of fans night in and night out. But we can't really bash the Beavers because here in Portland, there aren't very many other attractions if you're a sports fan. So we deal with only having a Triple A baseball club, and it's pretty good stuff I suppose.
I've been to approximately 3 Beavers games in the past 5 years. But this upcoming season, there might be more of a reason to make it out to the ol' (AAA) ball game.
Mark Prior is now a member of the San Diego Padres, Portland's major league affiliate.
Yeah, I know this is kind of old (and maybe obvious) news. And sure it's only Mark Prior. But it's Mark Prior! It never occurred to me that Mark Prior will probably be making his "comeback" right here in Portland. Here in Portland, with the Beavers, we need all the star power we can get! And out of all the reasons to go and see the Portland Beavers (or lack thereof), seeing Mark Prior pitch is definitely a good one. Or at least I think so.
So anyway, there ya go people. Now you know.
