Well I guess if an Oregon Duck fan says it, it must be true, right? Yeah, hardly. And I know I sound bitter. Probably because I'm an Oregon State Beaver fan, but it just doesn't add up.
Oregon finished the season ranked 23rd. Oregon State finished the year ranked 25th. If you ask me, it should have been the other way around. I just love the arrogance of this Duck fan that posted the above comment on OregonLive.com. And by love it, I mean it annoys the crap out of me.
Oregon won their bowl game against South Florida, 56-21. Oregon State beat Maryland 21-14, in their bowl game. Both teams finished the season 9-4, including their bowl wins. But if you ask me, if you're wondering who should be ranked higher, you should look at what happened when the Ducks played the Beavers. What happened in that game, by the way?
Oh yeah, Oregon State beat Oregon, 38-31.
I don't care that Oregon is ranked, but I just don't think that they should be ranked higher than Oregon State. The Ducks lost the last three games of the year against Arizona, UCLA and Oregon State. They shouldn't have been ranked anywhere near number 23 to get that ranking when the year ended.
Sorry to sound bitter in this post. I just saw that comment, and wanted to expose that fan's "logic." It's been a slow news day people, cut me some slack.
